1. Introduction
At MOHO & Cave Pty Ltd, we believe in fostering a community where members can learn, grow, and engage in meaningful discussions. These Community Behaviour Guidelines outline the expectations for all participants in our community spaces, including but not limited to forums, comment sections, live events, webinars, and social media groups associated with Become CTO.
2. Core Principles
Our community is built on the following core principles:
2.1 Respect
Treat all community members with respect, dignity, and consideration regardless of their background, experience level, or opinions.
2.2 Inclusivity
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and aim to create an environment where everyone feels valued and included.
2.3 Professionalism
Maintain a professional demeanour in all interactions, even during disagreements or challenging discussions.
2.4 Constructive Engagement
Contribute to discussions in a way that adds value, promotes learning, and supports the growth of other community members.
3. Expected Behaviour
All community members are expected to:
- Communicate in a respectful and courteous manner
- Be considerate of others' perspectives and experiences
- Use appropriate language and avoid profanity or offensive terms
- Share knowledge and resources generously
- Provide constructive feedback when appropriate
- Take responsibility for your actions and their impact on others
- Listen actively and engage thoughtfully
- Support fellow community members in their learning and growth
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of others
- Follow additional guidelines specific to each community space
4. Tackling Difficult Subjects
We recognise the value of discussing challenging topics that are relevant to professional and personal growth. When engaging in conversations about sensitive or controversial subjects:
- Approach the topic with empathy and consideration
- Focus on issues rather than individuals
- Base arguments on facts and personal experiences rather than assumptions
- Be open to different perspectives and willing to learn
- Acknowledge that reasonable people can disagree
- Recognise when a conversation is becoming unproductive and step back when necessary
- Use content warnings when discussing potentially triggering subjects
We encourage robust debates and honest conversations, but always in a respectful manner that preserves the dignity of all participants.
5. Prohibited Behaviour
The following behaviours are not tolerated in our community:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation in any form
- Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other personal characteristic
- Personal attacks, insults, or derogatory comments
- Hate speech or content that promotes hatred or violence
- Sharing of explicit, graphic, or otherwise inappropriate content
- Spam, solicitation, or self-promotion without permission
- Deliberate disruption of discussions or community activities
- Violating the privacy of others, including sharing private communications without consent
- Impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity or affiliations
- Any illegal activities or promotion of illegal behaviour
- Repeated violations of community guidelines despite warnings
6. Moderation
6.1 Moderator Authority
Our community is overseen by moderators appointed by MOHO & Cave Pty Ltd. Moderators are responsible for enforcing these guidelines and maintaining a healthy community environment.
6.2 Moderator Actions
Moderators may take any of the following actions in response to guideline violations:
- Issue warnings or reminders about appropriate behaviour
- Edit or remove inappropriate content
- Temporarily restrict participation in specific discussions or community spaces
- Temporarily suspend community access
- Permanently ban individuals from the community for serious or repeated violations
6.3 Final Authority
All moderator decisions and actions are final. While we strive to be fair and consistent in our moderation, we reserve the right to make decisions based on our judgement of what is best for the community as a whole.
If you believe a moderator action was taken in error, you may contact us privately at [email protected], but public challenges to moderation decisions are not permitted.
7. Reporting Guidelines Violations
If you witness behaviour that violates these guidelines:
- Use the reporting tools available in the community platform
- Contact a moderator directly through private message
- Email us at [email protected] with details of the incident
When reporting, please provide:
- The specific content or behaviour that concerns you
- The context in which it occurred
- Any additional information that might be helpful
All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled confidentially.
8. Changes to These Guidelines
We reserve the right to modify these guidelines at any time. Major changes will be announced to the community, but it is each member's responsibility to stay informed of current guidelines.
9. Acknowledgement
By participating in our community, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by these Community Behaviour Guidelines. You also acknowledge that failure to comply may result in temporary or permanent removal from our community spaces.
